Psalm 42:1-2
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
God welcomes your longing for him, and even spiritual thirst can be a sign that your heart still reaches for his presence.
James 4:8
“Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Even one small step toward God matters, because he responds with nearness and grace.
Isaiah 40:31
“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
When you feel empty and worn out, God is able to renew the strength you do not have on your own.
Lamentations 3:22-23
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Dry seasons do not cancel God's mercy, because his faithfulness meets you again each new day.
Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus does not ask you to fix your soul first; he invites you to come and receive rest.
A Prayer for This Moment
Lord, I feel dry, tired, and far from you, but I still want to know you and be near you. Draw my heart back to you, renew my strength, and help me trust your presence even when I do not feel it. Thank you that your mercy is new every morning and that you welcome me as I am. In Jesus’ name, amen.
